King receives Yemen Presidential Leadership Council chairman

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday reaffirmed Jordan’s support for all efforts to reach a political solution that restores security and stability to Yemen.

Receiving Yemen Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al Alimi at Al Husseiniya Palace, King Abdullah underscored the importance of ending the crisis in Yemen in a manner that safeguards the nation’s unity, stability and territorial integrity, noting Jordan’s support for efforts to extend the truce, according to a Royal Court statement.

Discussions also covered the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Yemen, as well as the latest regional and international developments.

The two sides agreed to maintain coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern, in service of shared interests and Arab causes.

For his part, Chairman Alimi commended Jordan’s efforts to end the Yemeni crisis, expressing appreciation for the Kingdom’s support at the international stage for a political solution that restores security and stability to Yemen.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan attended the meeting.
