King receives delegation from UK House of Commons’ International Development Committee

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received a delegation from the UK House of Commons’ International Development Committee, headed by Chair Sarah Champion MP.
The meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, covered the deep-rooted ties of friendship between Jordan and the United Kingdom, as well as means to advance them across various sectors, according to a Royal Court statement.
King Abdullah expressed appreciation of the United Kingdom’s support for development programmes in Jordan, including support for refugees and host communities.
His Majesty stressed the importance of maintaining support for Syrian refugees and UNRWA, despite other international challenges and crises.
The UK delegation commended Jordan’s role in hosting refugees and providing healthcare and education services for them, expressing appreciation of Jordanian efforts to maintain security and stability in the region.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and UK’s Ambassador to Jordan Bridget Brind attended the meeting.
