King recalls days of army service with brothers in arms

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday extolled the values of camaraderie in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), expressing confidence that future generations of servicemen will maintain these values.

At a meeting with a number of military retirees at the Royal Hashemite Court, King Abdullah expressed pride in JAF and security agencies’ personnel and retirees, according to a Royal Court statement.

His Majesty also paid tribute to the fallen martyrs of the JAF and the Royal Jordanian Air Force.

Attendees expressed best wishes the King, on behalf of all military servicemen, on the upcoming national occasions of Army Day, Accession to the Throne Day, and the Great Arab Revolt anniversary, highlighting the importance of His Majesty’s continuous outreach to veterans.

They recalled some memorable stories from their days of service with His Majesty, and stressed their continued commitment to serve Jordan and its people.

The King’s meeting with some 135 retired personnel from several JAF formations is part of His Majesty’s keenness to reach out to military veterans.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef  Huneiti, General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, and Public Security Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh attended the meeting.
