AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, in Athens on Wednesday, met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis covering means of stepping up bilateral cooperation across all fields.
King Abdullah reiterated the importance of bolstering ongoing cooperation between Jordan, Greece, and Cyprus, in service of the three countries and peoples, as well as in service of development in the region, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty voiced appreciation for the success of the trilateral summit and bilateral meeting, saying there will be a lot of joint work and follow-up ahead.
For his part, the Greek prime minister announced that his country will provide Jordan with 150,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses, as part of joint efforts to counter the pandemic.
Prime Minister Mitsotakis noted the importance of the trilateral summit and bilateral meeting, describing them as opportunities to bolster ties between Jordan and Greece, and identify areas of cooperation that go beyond the geopolitical agenda.
The meeting also covered the latest regional developments, and efforts to reach political solutions to regional crises.
Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Jordan’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic Ahed Sweidat attended the meeting.
