King meets European Commission VP

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday met with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, European Commission Vice-President Josep Borrell.

At the meeting held on the sidelines of the second Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, King Abdullah stressed the strong ties between Jordan and the European Union, according to a Royal Court statement.

His Majesty stressed the importance of bolstering cooperation with the EU and expanding interconnectivity between the countries in the region and Europe, in service of mutual interests.

The meeting also covered the EU’s support for Jordan, with Borrell stressing the Kingdom’s important role in the region and commending the strong partnership between Jordan and the EU.

He also expressed condolences to the King over the Public Security Directorate’s personnel who were killed in the line of duty.
