King leaves for Kazakhstan visit

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday left for a working visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the Fifth Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

In March, King Abdullah received Chairman of the Kazakh Senate Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who conveyed an invitation from President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the King to attend the congress in Astana.

His Majesty is scheduled to deliver a speech in the event's main session, in addition to holding talks with Nazarbayev and Prime Minister Karim Massimov, according to a Royal Court statement.

HRH Crown Prince Hussein was sworn in as Regent. 

During his meeting with Tokayev, the King asserted Jordan’s commitment to boosting ties with Kazakhstan. The Monarch also highlighted the need to build on the accomplishments of his visit to Kazakhstan last year.
