AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday received Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Bin Abdullah, who conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and a message from him on the brotherly ties between the two countries and bolstering coordination and cooperation on regional issues.

During a meeting, the King expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support for Jordan in the face of various challenges, including the sedition that Jordan nipped in the bud, noting that Saudi Arabia’s messages of support are a reflection of its leadership’s policy to stand by Jordan in all circumstances, according to a Royal Court statement.

His Majesty stressed that Jordan’s and Saudi Arabia’s security is one and the same, as they stand together in the face of various challenges, reaffirming the centrality of the ties between the two countries.

The King noted the strength of Jordanian-Saudi ties in the face of scepticism and speculation, asking the minister to convey his greetings to the Saudi monarch and wishing Saudi Arabia and its people further prosperity and progress, the statement said.

For his part, the Saudi foreign minister expressed Saudi Arabia’s keenness to bolster cooperation with Jordan and its appreciation of the brotherly, historical ties between the two countries and leaderships.

Discussions at the meeting covered means of advancing bilateral ties across all sectors, and maintaining coordination and consultation between the two countries on issues of mutual concern, in service of their interests and Arab causes.
