AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah and Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, in a call on Wednesday, stressed the importance of commencing the rebuilding of Gaza immediately without displacing the Palestinians from their land.
The two leaders reaffirmed their shared position in rejecting the displacement of Palestinians, and their keenness on maintaining coordination to ensure the Palestinians gain their full legitimate rights, according to a Royal Court statement.
The call covered the importance of maintaining the Gaza ceasefire and increasing aid to all areas in the Strip.
His Majesty warned of the escalation in the West Bank and violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, the statement said.
The two leaders expressed keenness on cooperating closely with US President Donald Trump to achieve just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
The two leaders also discussed ways to enhance Arab coordination and consultation, as well as preparations for the emergency Arab summit planned to be held in Egypt on 27 February.
The two sides stressed the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Egypt and keenness to maintain coordination on regional developments, in the best interest of the two peoples and in service of Arab causes, according to the statement.
