King, Egypt president discuss efforts to counter COVID-19

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah and Egypt President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday discussed joint efforts to counter and contain the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a phone call, King Abdullah and President El Sisi stressed the importance of continuing coordination on various issues, including mitigating the humanitarian and economic impacts of the pandemic, according to a Royal Court statement.
The phone call also covered the latest regional developments, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, with His Majesty and President El Sisi emphasising the need for political solutions to regional crises.
The King and the Egyptian president exchanged best wishes on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, according to the statement.
