King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden due in Jordan for state visit in November

AMMAN — Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are due in Jordan for a state visit on November 15-17, at the invitation of His Majesty King Abdullah.
During the visit, Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania will meet King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia to discuss the deep-rooted, historic ties of friendship between Jordan and Sweden, according to a Royal Court statement.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will be accompanied by a Swedish government delegation as well as private sector representatives from Sweden, with the visit focusing on bolstering cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment, sustainable development, and countering the impact of climate change.
Attention will also be paid to the growing Swedish-Jordanian partnership, marking the inauguration of the Swedish Dialogue Institute for the Middle East and North Africa, and the expansion and new premises of the Embassy of Sweden in Amman, according to an embassy statement.
