King Abdullah II School of Excellence triumphs in Arab Reading Challenge

AMMAN — Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah on Tuesday honoured the King Abdullah II School of Excellence in Irbid for winning this year's Arab Reading Challenge. The school, which stood out in the Distinguished Schools category, secured the first place in the seventh edition of the challenge, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Mahafzah stressed the importance of the school's achievement, which placed the Kingdom at the cultural forefront of the Arab world. Director of Irbid Education Department Hamzah Najadat described the project as one of the largest cultural and knowledge initiatives in the Arab world, aiming to instill the love of reading in the hearts of children and students, encouraging them to collectively read 50 million books each academic year. Najadat pointed out that King Abdullah II School met the requirements and earned a substantial cash prize of JD200,000.
