During a meeting with secretaries-general of political parties, Khraisha reiterated Jordan's support for the Palestinian cause, backed by tangible actions, until the Palestinians meet their legitimate rights and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Khraisha expressed gratitude for the political parties' support during the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, praising their alignment with the leadership and acknowledging the efforts of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army in securing borders against external provocations.
He also commended political parties for their supportive role through statements, marches and solidarity protests, and for providing humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians.
The ongoing political reform process will now focus on political parties, which will require greater participation by all political forces in the upcoming legislative elections, he said.
Highlighting the importance of expanding the membership of political parties, especially in certain regions, the minister called for heightened efforts to raise awareness about political party life. He also said that the ministry is actively pursuing this goal through educational initiatives targeting Jordanian youth, women and various societal segments of society to underscore the importance of political engagement.
The minister emphasised that political parties operate independently without external interference, noting that these meetings aim to listen to secretaries-general notes, which will be shared with the government to facilitate their tasks. He also reiterated the ministry's intention to hold these meetings regularly.
Regarding the relationship between the official media and political parties, Kharisha said that official media institutions maintain an open dialogue with political parties, which is evident in their programming during this period.
Parties general secretaries praised His Majesty King Abdullah's firm stance towards the Israeli aggression on Gaza and hailed the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army for their efforts to protect the nation from criminal activities, and appreciated the military's dispatch of aircrafts to help the Palestinian people. They also discussed various party-related issues, including the regulation of party activities, Petra added.
