Kharabsheh meets with German official, talks energy supply collaboration

AMMAN — Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh on Wednesday encouraged German coordination with Jordan in an electrical interconnection project to achieve energy integration and security in the MENA countries. During a meeting with German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck, Kharabsheh highlighted efforts to make Jordan a regional centre for green energy export.
He also reviewed collaborative Jordanian-German energy projects, including the German Energy Academy in Jordan, which offers vocational training, according to a ministry statement. Kharabsheh expressed appreciation for Germany’s ongoing support of the Jordanian energy sector. Commending Jordan's role in international relations, the German minister emphasised the necessity of joint action in energy interconnection, noting that EU countries are currently working to ensure the security of energy supply.
