AMMAN — A Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team has arrested one of three suspects, believed to have stolen a safe from a consumer corporation in Karak, the Public Security Department (PSD) said on Sunday.
The burglary took place last Tuesday, when the suspects threatened the guard with a sharp object and broke the locks of the facility before stealing the safe, according to a PSD statement.
After receiving a complaint, CID agents started an investigation and arrested the suspect, “who has a criminal record”. After further questioning, the suspect confessed to committing the robbery with two accomplices and sharing the stolen cash. The safe was retrieved, and search for the two other suspects is under way, the PSD said.
