AMMAN — Seven social entrepreneurship projects have received financial support through the Social Entrepreneurship Challenge, an initiative launched by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD). Mazen Tabalat, KAFD director, on Monday signed agreements to provide financial support to the current edition’s winning projects titled “Transform Your Ideas into Action”, according to a KAFD statement. Winning projects, which cover a wide range of sectors including education, tourism, business, agriculture, the environment and technology, will receive financial support of up to JD5,000 for individuals and youth groups, while civil society institutions will receive support of JD10,000 to JD15,000. The Social Entrepreneurship Challenge initiative aims to foster positive competition among young people, promote a culture of initiative and enable them to develop their communities and foster positive attitudes by showcasing youths’ local impact. Launched in 2019, the project has supported 12 ventures in previous editions, providing a total of 1,797 direct and indirect opportunities.
