AMMAN — Minister of Justice Bassem Talhouni, head of the national anti-human trafficking committee, on Saturday met with representatives from international organisations and agencies concerned with fighting human trafficking, according to a ministry statement.

Talks went over the Kingdom's efforts towards combating human trafficking, notably approving amendments to the Anti-Human Trafficking Law and 2019-2022 anti-human trafficking national strategy. Talhouni stressed Jordan's keenness to keep pace with international developments to ensure the protection of human rights in general and combating crimes related to human trafficking in particular.

"Legislation in force show the Kingdom's commitment to apply the international conventions on the protection of human rights", he said, reiterating the ministry's keenness to exert more efforts to ensure a national response to combat human trafficking.
