AMMAN — The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organisation (JSMO) assured customers on Tuesday that it is investigating recent complaints related to in-home gas cylinders.
In a statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the JSMO said that since the beginning of the year, it has received 57 complaints about gas cylinders, eight of which claimed they had received cylinders filled with water instead of gas.
After pursuing the complaints, the organisation confirmed the cylinders had indeed been filled with water. The JSMO emphasised that it expanded its inspection of gas-filling stations in addition to gas companies and warehouses this winter, adding that it has inspected a total of 2,855 home cylinders at different points in the supply chain from warehouses to delivery vehicles.
Complaints are often resolved within a day, the JSMO said, and residents can lodge complaints by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 065301243 or via JSMO’s social media pages, website, or application.
Complaints can also be submitted to Sanad JO by calling 065008080.
