AMMAN — The Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS) concluded a Reef Check Ecodiver training session in Aqaba late last week.
Participants were from the Royal Naval Force, the Aqaba Marine Park, the Marine Science Station, the Aqaba Port Authority and local dive centres.
Local fishermen also took part in the course, according to a JREDS statement.
During the four-day programme, participants gained knowledge about the ecology of coral reef habitats in the Red Sea and were trained in scientific diving methods.
The training was held by Datadiving, a German scientific diving company, and funded through the GIZ project “Protection of environment and biodiversity in Jordan”.
