AMMAN — Jordan’s Ambassador to Russia Amjad Adaileh on Thursday inaugurated the Petra Library at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University).
The library and hall are the result of a grant from the Kingdom to foreign students studying Arabic at the university, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The inauguration, which coincided with the 20th anniversary of His Majesty King Abdullah’s assumption of constitutional powers, was the result of cooperation among the Jordanian Embassy, RUDN University and an initiative launched by Jordanian students studying at the university, as well as the Faculty of Arts’ deanship and the Rum Club for Arabic.
The ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Russia Haidar Hadi and Arab League Ambassador to Russia Jaber Habib Jaber. The Foreign Ministry, Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs and Mutran School also supported the initiative.
