Jordanians largest Arab investors in Dubai’s property market

AMMAN — Jordanian investors came top among Arab nationals in real estate trading in Dubai in 2016, Dubai Land Department (DLD) figures showed on Saturday.
A total of 1,331 Jordanians invested some $680 million in the emirate’s property market, while total Arab investment reached $3.2 billion during the year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported, citing figures from a DLD report.
In 2015, 1,516 Jordanians bought properties worth over $955 million in Dubai.
Jordanian official data estimates over 200,000 Jordanians reside in the United Arab Emirates for work and investment purposes.
According to figures from the Jordan Housing Developers Association, Jordanians are investing billions of dollars in property markets abroad.
They are also pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into the emirate of Abu Dhabi, according to the syndicate, which said that investors from the Kingdom were also buying real estate in Turkey and Egypt.
According to the DLD, Egyptians were the second largest Arab investors in 2016, spending $653 million.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nationals invested some $9.5 billion in around 13,000 investments, where Saudis were the second largest GCC investors after Emiratis, with an investment value of $2.1 billion.
Real estate investments in Dubai in 2016 totalled $70 billion, the figures showed.
