AMMAN —  A Jordanian woman was reportedly among the 41 killed in three suicide bombings at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport on Tuesday.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Sabah Al Rafie said officials were still in contact with the authorities in Turkey to verify the reports.

The woman is reportedly the wife of Jordanian citizen Mohammad Saeed Shreim, who was injured in the attack.

The reports said the couple’s son was also hurt in the terror attacks and was in critical condition.

Rafie told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, earlier in the day that the husband was in fair condition and receiving medical treatment.

She also confirmed that a Palestinian woman holding a temporary Jordanian passport had been identified among the dead, adding that the victim’s husband and child were injured in the coordinated attack on Turkey’s largest airport.

The ministry is monitoring the condition of the injured father and child, and is closely following up with Turkish authorities and the Jordanian and Palestinian embassies in Ankara, Rafie told The Jordan Times.

At least 13 of the 41 people killed in Tuesday’s attack were foreign nationals, Turkish news outlets reported.

Rafie said that no advisory has been issued to warn Jordanians against travelling to Turkey.

Meanwhile, Basel Kilani, director of Royal Jordanian’s media office, said none of the airline’s passengers had cancelled reservations on flights to Istanbul, despite the attack

The ministry spokesperson advised that citizens in Turkey can contact the Jordanian embassy in Ankara on 00903125011111 or Tareq Smadi, a diplomat in charge of consular affairs in Istanbul, on 00905327720230, Petra reported.
