Jordanian representatives meet with former Turkish prime minister

AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz and Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday received the former Turkish prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who visited the Kingdom upon an invitation from the Global Forum for Moderation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The former prime minister gave a lecture on the future of the region in light of its current challenges at the forum, and during a meeting with Razzaz praised Jordan’s stability and institutionalism as talks delved into regional issues and challenges.

Razzaz voiced his appreciation for Davutoglu’s efforts in developing bilateral ties and added that Jordanian-Turkish relations are based on mutual respect.

During a separate meeting with the senate president, Fayez and Davutoglu stressed the need to reach a political solution in Syria and exert more efforts in the war on extremism and terrorism, Petra reported.

Fayez also commended Ankara’s support for Amman’s rejection of recognising the Holy City as Israel’s capital.
