Jordanian injured in Saudi Arabia airlifted to Amman

AMMAN — Under directives from His Majesty King Abdullah and instructions from Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, a Royal Jordanian Air Force plane on Monday airlifted Jordanian Jafar Al Sharairi, who was injured with his family in a traffic accident in Saudi Arabia.

The plane, carrying a Royal Medical Services team, flew the 18-year-old from King Khalid University Hospital in Tabuk to Al Hussein Medical City in Amman to continue his treatment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

A representative from the Foreign Affairs, Ministry coordinated with the Saudi authorities through the Kingdom’s embassy in Saudi Arabia and consulate in Jeddah to transport the injured and the remains of those who died in the crash. Four Jordanians, all members of the same family, died last week in the traffic accident in Tabuk.
