AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Wednesday welcomed Saudi Arabia's efforts that led to "positive developments" and contributed to the resumption of implementing the Riyadh agreement between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council. The ministry described the move as an "important step" towards reaching a ceasefire, halting escalation, supporting efforts aimed at realising peace, security and stability in Yemen.
The move supports a political solution that aims to put an end to the Yemeni crisis, according to a Foreign Ministry statement. The ministry also expressed appreciation for the UAE's role in such endeavours that aim at realising peace in Yemen according to accredited references to spare Yemenis more humanitarian and economic sufferings.
