AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Saturday welcomed a prisoner exchange between the Yemeni government and the Houthi group on Friday.
The ministry commended the important role of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in sponsoring the operation, and the constructive efforts of the delegations of Saudi Arabia and Oman that contributed to reaching this agreement, according to a ministry statement.
The ministry expressed hope that the agreement will contribute to enhancing security, stability and peace in Yemen and in the region, and be a step towards achieving the armistice and resolving the crisis in Yemen.
