AMMAN — Jordan and Sudan agreed on fostering agricultural cooperation, to facilitate the flow of agricultural products and utilise the comparative and geographic advantages of both countries.
Minister of Agriculture and Environment Ibrahim Shahahdeh on Saturday said that during his visit to Sudan on Friday, he met with a number of Sudanese agricultural officials and agreed on registering fertilisers and pesticide products, transferring modern technology and granting Jordanian companies privileges in their respective fields, as well as in exporting poultry.
The two countries agreed to open an office of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development in Amman.
It will help establish investment projects that serve the operational and productive dimensions in both countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday. The minister also called on the Sudanese government to allocate land for growing animal fodder to be planted under joint supervision of the two countries.
