AMMAN — The Royal Jordanian Airlines on Wednesday announced the resumption of daily flights to Beirut as of early Thursday morning.
The national carrier said in a press release that the decision to resume flights followed approval from the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC).
The CARC had suspended national carrier flights to Beirut as a precautionary measure based on a risk assessment of flights.
Several countries suspended flights to Beirut including Germany's national airline Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines and Greek carrier Aegean Airlines.
Tensions between Israel and the Lebanese militia Hizbollah have risen after a rocket attack on a football field in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday killed 12 children.
