Jordan receives ancient coins previously seized by Egypt's SCA

AMMAN — Egypt on Monday handed over to Jordan ancient coins that had been seized by Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA).
Jordan’s Ambassador in Cairo, Amjad Adaileh, who received the coins during a ceremony held at the Egyptian Museum, expressed thanks to Egypt's efforts towards preserving the cultural heritage and artefacts of countries in accordance with international and bilateral agreements.
Addressing the gathering, Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa said that his county does not only protect its own culture, history, and artefacts but also the cultural belongings of other nations.
Talks also went over the Egyptian authorities' efforts at its border crossings to monitor and seize any stolen artefacts. During the ceremony, seized coins were also returned to Saudi Arabia, Iraq and China, Petra added.
