Jordan-Qatar trade volume up 4.5%

AMMAN —The volume of trade between Qatar and Jordan during the first nine months of 2022 amounted to more than 500 million Qatari riyals, equivalent to $137.3 million, showing an increase of 4.5 per cent, up from 476 million Qatari riyals, equivalent to $130.7 million, during the same period of 2021, according to figures released by the Qatar Planning and Statistics Authority.
Jordan’s main exports to Qatar include vegetables, fruits, meats, dates, cheeses, fresh yoghurts, poultry, grains, sweets, pastries, rice, juices, nuts, oils, ghee, pickles, herbs, honey, coffee and eggs.
Qatari exports to Jordan include various chemical products, notably automobile lubricants, sulfonic acid, aluminum briquettes, paraffin, polyethylene, iron rods, chemical fertilisers, as well as plastic bags, organic fertilisers, medical products and food products.
Trade between Qatar and Jordan surpassed 11.5 billion riyals, equivalent to $3.17 billion, during the last 10 years, according to the released figures.
