AMMAN — Interior Minister Mazen Faraiah and Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al Thani on Sunday in Doha signed a security cooperation agreement to combat crime in all its forms and improve the efficiency of security agencies.

The Jordanian-Qatari relations at the official and popular levels  have set an example, notably in recent years, thanks to the two leaderships’ directives, Faraiah said, noting that the two countries’ relations are fundamental for regional stability, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The agreement stems from a joint desire to enhance existing cooperation, he added, noting it is a further step towards expanding exchange of information and security, and technical expertise to prevent and combat crime in all forms, notably in the fields of counterterrorism and human trafficking, money laundering and cybercrime. It also aims to facilitate exchange of expertise in the field of facility protection and training, Petra reported.

Sheikh Khalid Al Thani highlighted the two countries’ “deep-rooted” ties that opened the door for further cooperation in various fields, Petra added.
