Jordan participates in UN conference on rights of persons with disabilities

AMMAN — Jordan is currently participating in the 10th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWD), held at the UN’s headquarters in New York.
Held under the theme of “Inclusion and full participation of persons with disabilities and their representative organisations in the implementation of the convention”, the session discusses addressing the impact of multiple discriminations on PWD, according to the UN website.
Muhannad Azzeh, secretary general of the Higher Council for the Affairs of PWD, highlighted the importance of the Kingdom’s achievements in implementing the sustainable development agenda 2030, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
On the sidelines of the session, Azzeh and delegates are to hold bilateral meetings with other states’ parties to enhance cooperation.
