AMMAN — Jordan on Thursday joined the Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The membership request presented by Jordan gained the support of all representatives of member countries, who took part in a partnership meeting in Italy, which reflects the international community’s confidence in Jordan and its role against the spread of weapons of mass destruction and terrorism, according to Petra.
The G7 and Russia have launched the partnership during a summit in Canada in 2002 to boost cooperation, secure financing for its programmes and prepare plans that target preventing the spread of these weapons, fighting terrorism, disarmament and nuclear safety.
