AMMAN — The Jordanian-Iraqi Business and Finance Forum is set to commence in Amman on Tuesday.

Organised by the Iraqi Business Council under the theme "Building Bridges of Shared Prosperity", the event aims to bring together government officials, business leaders and companies from both nations.

The economic forum looks to bolster trade, industry and investment relations between Jordan and Iraq, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Established in Amman in 2006, the Iraqi Business Council served as a platform for business professionals to exchange ideas, information and commercial insights.

Furthermore, it facilitated trade and social missions, shedding light on existing investment opportunities in Jordan and Iraq.

The value of trade between Jordan and Iraq during the first quarter of the current year increased by 23 per cent, amounting to JD158 million, surpassing the previous year's figure of JD128 million recorded during the same period, according to the Department of Statistics.
