Jordan to host media meetings of Arab League General Secretariat

AMMAN — Jordan on Tuesday will host the media meetings of the Arab League General Secretariat, in cooperation with the Arab Commission for Satellite Broadcasting (ACSB), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The three-day meetings will feature a number of Arab media and communication representatives to discuss issues concerned with the role of the media in confronting extremism and the impact of digital media and videogames on societies.
Minister of State for Media Affairs Faisal Shboul highlighted that the Kingdom's hosting of these meetings comes within the framework of supporting Arab efforts aimed at addressing pressing common media issues, as part of efforts exerted to advance joint Arab action.
Assistant Secretary General and head of the Arab League media and communication sector Ahmad Khattabi extended thanks to Jordan for hosting the meetings, expressing the sector’s aspiration to review Jordan’s media-education experience, in line with the recommendations of the 14th session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, held in Baghdad, and based on its importance in promoting professional media.
