AMMAN — The Artificial Limbs and Polio Centre (ALPC) in Gaza has been provided with advanced practitioners to provide advice and training in the field of prosthetics, as well as to prepare the artificial limbs and other equipment for patients who are suffering disabilities, Commander of the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza/69 Col. Anwar Al Bashbasheh said on Sunday.
Touring the centre, Bashbasheh highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to treat five cases, noting that the hospital’s work is ongoing in support of Gazans, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Mohammed Duwaimeh, the centre’s head, expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s efforts in support of the Palestinians, notably the Gazans.
In 1976, during the establishment of the centre, as per a Royal Benefaction (makruma) of His Majesty the late King Hussein, a number of the centre's staffs were sent to Marka Military Hospital to receive training to avail Jordan’s advanced military expertise in this field, Duwaimeh said. The ALPC maintains "close" cooperation and coordination with the Jordanian hospital in Gaza, he added. The centre’s staff and visitors valued His Majesty King Abdullah unceasing gestures to alleviate their burdens in the Strip.
