Jordan, Egypt sign memo on nuclear energy cooperation

AMMAN — Jordan and Egypt on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the nuclear field.
Jordan Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Khaled Toukan, who signed the memo on behalf of Jordan, said it is the first step towards cooperation in utilising nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, commending Egypt’s nuclear expertise.
The memo stipulates cooperation in the areas of prospecting, exploring and extracting uranium to generate electricity.
