AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday condemned the Israeli authorities for allowing extremist groups to carry out a provocative and escalatory march in Jerusalem on Tuesday.
The ministry also condemned the attacks by the Israeli forces on Jerusalemites in the Bab Al Amud area, in the Old City, and in various areas in occupied Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The ministry’s spokesperson Daifallah Fayez, in a statement, condemned the “racist, provocative and unacceptable behaviour”, which negates all regional and international efforts to stabilise the situation and reduce escalation and violence.
Fayez held the Israeli authorities responsible for the escalation that took place on Tuesday, demanding that they stop the attacks and provocations and respect the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem.
