AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Sunday condemned Israel's ongoing military aggression against the Gaza Strip, specifically denouncing the systematic targeting of civilians.

In the latest attack, Israeli occupation forces struck a mosque sheltering displaced individuals in Deir Al Balah, resulting in numerous Palestinian deaths and injuries, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Sufian Qudah, the ministry's spokesperson, reiterated Jordan’s rejection of Israel’s violations of international law and humanitarian standards, stressing the gravity of the war crimes and acts of genocide being committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Qudah also voiced concern over the absence of a decisive international response to stop Israel's aggression, which is essential to alleviating the severe humanitarian crisis faced by the besieged population of Gaza.

Qudah warned that the situation in the region could further deteriorate if Israel continues its violations, not only in Gaza but also in the West Bank and  Lebanon, and its attacks on Palestinians in shelters and places of worship.

The spokesperson called for urgent action from the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to immediately stop the aggression, ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians, and hold accountable those responsible for the crimes committed.
