AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Monday condemned Kosovo’s opening of its embassy in Jerusalem. Ministry Spokesperson Deifallah Fayez said that opening the embassy in Jerusalem is a “rejected and condemned” step and is in violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, according to a ministry statement.
Any procedures or decisions that aim at altering the status quo in Jerusalem or its legal status are void and illegitimate, the spokesperson said.
Fayez stressed that a comprehensive and fair peace can only be achieved through the two-state solution, based on international legitimacy resolutions, that embodies the independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.
