AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday condemned the Israeli demolition of Al Yousifieh cemetery’s stair entrance in the occupied East Jerusalem, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ministry’s spokesperson Daifallah Fayez reaffirmed the Kingdom’s denouncement of the Israeli attempt to distort the Arab identity of East Jerusalem, adding that its one-sided actions are considered a violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the resolutions of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
Fayez demanded that Israeli authorities cease its violations and renounce the attempts to alter the city’s historical features.
