AMMAN — Jordan on Sunday participated in the extraordinary session of the Arab League at the level of representatives, which discussed the Arab position regarding the provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel.

During the meeting, requested by Palestine in coordination with Jordan and Egypt, Jordan's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Amjad Adaileh, emphasised the Kingdom's support for the ICJ ruling, considering it a crucial step in addressing Israeli genocides in Gaza, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Adaileh reiterated Jordan's calls for an immediate and complete cessation of the Israeli aggression on Gaza in accordance with the ICJ ruling. He also highlighted the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of the war, emphasising Israel’s “blatant” violation of international laws.

In another Arab League meeting discussing the Israeli campaign against UNRWA, Adaileh underlined Jordan's support for the vital role played by the UN agency in delivering humanitarian assistance to Palestinians affected by the Israeli war on Gaza.

The diplomat stressed the Kingdom's rejection of such allegations that hinder the delivery of aid to UNRWA, highlighting the organisation's essential role, which he asserted was in line with the ICJ ruling.

He also expressed Jordan's disapproval of subjecting the UN agency to mass penalties based on Israeli allegations against some of its staff in the besieged strip
