Jordan, Armenia sign agreement to implement educational, scientific programme

AMMAN — The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement with the Armenian government to implement an educational, scientific programme for the years 2021 to 2026, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The programme, consolidating the existing cooperation between Jordan and Armenia, included supporting the establishment and development of direct links between universities and scientific and research organisations in accordance with the bilateral agreements signed by the two parties, relevant authorities, as well as universities and scientific research organisations.

According to the programme, parties annually exchange no more than 30 full scholarships for bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the fields of information technology, architecture and construction, archeology, linguistics, medicine, Arabic and Islamic Studies for a period of one year, in addition to offering language courses when needed. 

The programme will enter into force from the date of its signing and will remain in effect until December 31, 2026.

It will be automatically renewed for a period of five years unless either party notifies the other in writing through diplomatic channels of its intention to terminate it at least 60 days before the date of termination. 

The agreement can also may be modified with the mutual written consent of the parties, which shall be specified in a separate protocol.
