AMMAN — President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Hamdi Tabbaa on Saturday announced holding a Jordanian-Saudi investment conference early next year, aimed at introducing the most important investment projects, especially in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone and the NEOM project.

In a series of meetings with Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Nayef Sudairi, Tabbaa highlighted the role of the two countries’ private sector and their continuous endeavors to build trade and investment partnerships.

He described Saudi Arabia as one of the most prominent investors in Jordan, noting that the volume of Saudi investments in Jordan amounted to nearly $14 billion, covering about 900 projects in several sectors.

In 2021, Saudi Arabia topped the list of investors in Jordan, with investments worth $1.46 billion, he said, adding that founding the Saudi-Jordanian Investment Fund in 2017 constituted a “quantum leap” in promoting and developing joint investments.

In turn, Sudairi said that Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman’s visit to Jordan and his meeting with His Majesty King Abdullah in June focused on increasing trade and investment.

The Saudi ambassador described Amman’s market as promising and developed due to its viable investments, expressing keenness to further development and investment by both sides.
