JOHUD’s Goodwill Family Relief Fund resumes Ramadan campaign

By JT - Apr 13,2021 - Last updated at Apr 14,2021

AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD) announces that the Goodwill Family Relief Fund (GWFRF) has resumed this Ramadan, in response to the difficulties faced by many Jordanian families who continue to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the Kingdom.

As the latest initiative of the nationally known annual Goodwill Campaign, established by HRH Princess Basma bint Talal in 1991, the GWFRF aims to raise funds and provide support to vulnerable families, particularly female headed households, where widowed women or abandoned families have no source of income, and those families who do not benefit from the National Aid Fund and other national safety nets, according to a JOHUD statement.

Executive Director of JOHUD Farah Daghistani said that this year the GWFRF aims to reach approximately 3,000 families across the country.

Donations will go towards prepaid cards which families can use to purchase food and basic necessities, or pay water and electricity bills.

The Goodwill Campaign will also continue to support communities across Jordan through programmes that support small businesses, provide urgent medical assistance and scholarships, renovate homes and make in-kind contributions including school supplies, food and health packages and Eid clothing.

Those who wish to make their Zakat donations can do so through the Goodwill Campaign and the GWFRF, and all donations can be easily made online or by smart phone, the statement said.

Johud's network of 51 locally managed community development centres serves as an affective outreach platform, and strong ties with communities around these centres means that the most vulnerable families can be identified, the statement said.

Interventions aim to address the most immediate needs of such vulnerable groups, but also to affect long-term positive change and promote self-reliance. To make a donation:
