AMMAN — The Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development’s (JOHUD) “Queen Alia Competition for Social Responsibility”, in cooperation with the Jordanian Engineers Association, on Tuesday announced the winners of the green building designs “JO GREEN” in its ninth edition, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fifty-one projects by 246 students from engineering specialisations from various public and private universities were presented.
The competition is aimed at youth from undergraduate engineering courses to motivate them to work as interdisciplinary teams and to find innovative solutions to challenges facing Jordan in fields of energy, water, environment, economics and climate change.
This year’s theme focused on “designing a building within a residential complex to serve low income people that meet green building requirements and criteria”. The designs in the competition were evaluated by a specialised judging panel.
