JIACC decides to detain suspects in tender case pending investigation

AMMAN — The Public Prosecutor at the Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) on Tuesday decided to detain three individuals at the correctional and rehabilitation centre of Juwaidah for a period of 15 days pending further investigation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The three individuals were detained on the charge of executing a tender for the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation in 2015, which was incompatible with the tender’s specifications and conditions.
An official source at the JIACC said that the public prosecutor charged the three individuals with the crimes of misuse of office and intervention in misuse of office.
The contractor who executed the tender and received an amount exceeding JD2,000,000 was among the three detainees.
