JHCO says 31,000 tonnes of aid delivered to Gaza, reaching over 700,000 Palestinians in war-torn Strip

AMMAN — Jordan has sent a total of 31,000 tonnes of aid to Gaza since the outbreak of the Israeli war against the besieged Strip, according to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO).
The organisation said that the aid, directly sent from Jordan to Gaza is distributed inside the war-ravaged Strip through partner organisations.
It said that over 20,000 tonnes are food aid, almost 2,400 tonnes are non-food relief items, around 1,500 tonnes are medicines and medical supplies, around 720 tonnes are health supplies and around 6,000 tonnes are aid distributed inside Gaza through partner organisations.
JHCO said that a total of 1,865 convoys were sent to Gaza by land via the King Hussein Bridge. Of these, 1,122 trucks were sent by JHCO in cooperation with international agencies, while 743 trucks were dispatched by the organisation through the Jordanian armed forces.
A total of 53 cargo planes laden with aid were transported via Egypt’s Al Arish airport, out of which 13 planes were dispatched by JHCO and 40 in partnership with relief organisations.
Through cooperation with partner organisations in the Gaza Strip, the organisation said that approximately 717,000 people have benefited directly from relief and food aid.
