AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) on Thursday decided to reduce the prices, by 10 to 20 per cent, of 90 drug types.
The JFDA Director General Nizar Mheidat said that the reduction mainly targets the most commonly used drugs, such as blood pressure, diabetes and osteoporosis medications, whose prices normally range between JD20 and JD50, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He added that the administration, under a periodic review of drug prices in the local market, will soon seek to lower the prices of other drug groups to enhance drug security and provide treatment at affordable prices.
So far this year, JFDA has reduced the prices of 360 medicines, Petra added.
