AMMAN — Damage caused by the cold frontier in Jerash, has been mitigated thanks to the coordination between the local operations centres in the governorate and the cohesive efforts of official authorities and municipalities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Heavy rainfall revealed flaws in the infrastructure of some of Jerash’s streets, which requires relevant authorities to reconsider the mechanism of bid granting and implementation.
Jerash witnessed heavy 100mm rainfall that caused the partial collapse of some streets and alleyways and non-hazardous flashfloods. Heavy rainfall also unsettled the pavement in some of Jerash’s main streets, causing damage to the cars on site.
Greater Jerash Municipality Director Ali Qoqazeh said the municipality implemented its emergency plan to the fullest while taking into consideration most of its citizens’ notes.
