AMMAN — The Jordan Electric Power Company (JEPCO) on Sunday announced the completion of the first phase of its plan to develop its call centres, which receive complaints and emergency calls around the clock, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The capacity of JEPCO’s call centres increased by three times in order to accommodate high volumes of calls in emergency circumstances. To facilitate contact, a new emergency phone number (116) has become the unified number for Amman, Zarqa, Madaba and Balqa.
The company announced it will keep the previously used and circulating phone numbers working for a transitional period.
The company has also launched a smart phone application for subscribers, which can be used to access many of the company's services, including submitting complaints about electrical outages and other emergencies.
